Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Financial Reporting will be responsible for the production of financial information on current results, internal controls and the day-to-day operations of the department.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the Group and its subsidiaries, including general accounting, invoicing, accounts receivable and accounts payable (team of 10 people). The team currently consists of 10 employees, including a Financial Accounting Manager and an Operational Accounting Manager reporting directly to him.
  • Be responsible for the timely preparation of financial reports and the presentation of these reports to the management team.
  • Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements.
  • Prepare and carry out the department’s annual master plan, in line with the company’s strategic plan.
  • Identify risks, including financial risks, and maintain a strong internal control environment necessary to secure financial operations, each entity’s assets to mitigate those risks.
  • Manages the commercial insurance file.
  • Build data analysis tools to have simple and effective financial reports.
  • Implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Ensure that all financial regulatory and compliance issues are appropriately adhered to; Primary contact of government agencies for financial records (taxes, audit, …)
  • In charge of the complete year-end file, work closely with the external audit teams.
  • Provide variance analyses, current vs. budget, consolidated and for each department.
  • Strictly control costs and administrative expenses.
  • Participation in the Audit Committee.
  • Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of accounting operations.
  • Participate in the implementation of computer applications in your sector.
  • Ensure the continuous improvement of financial processes and information systems and tools.
  • In collaboration with the CFO, participate in cash management: banking relationships, hedging, including foreign currency management, etc.

Education and experience required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with CPA designation.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience with managerial experience.

Key skills required.

  • Experience in auditing with an accounting firm (an asset).
  • Experience working with legal entities in the United States (an asset).
  • Experience with an ERP system and comfortable with technological tools in general.
  • Ability to adapt to change and ability to work with deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, synthesis and rigor skills.
  • A leader who ensures the professional development of his or her team members by acting as an agent of change and fostering innovation and collaboration.
  • Bilingualism both orally and in writing.

Starting salary $120,000.00 annually
