Financial Analyst (temporary 18 months)

Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager – Financial Accounting, the Financial Analyst will work in collaboration with the Manager – Financial Accounting and with an Accounting Technician – Financial Accounting. This team will support all of Norbec’s sites.

As part of the position, the financial analyst will be required to manage several ERP implementation projects that aim to improve the productivity, quality of accounting operations and internal controls of the company.  The analyst will have a significant involvement in the end of periods and in the production of financial statements for all the companies of the group. He will also be required to prepare analyses and recommendations allowing the company to have a good view of the financial aspects. The analyst will be involved in the budget process and financial forecasting process.

Job Responsibilities

Reporting financier (45%)

  • Participation for the end of monthly periods;
  • Participate in the analysis of results, explain variances with the budget and with previous periods;
  • Identify and propose internal controls to ensure the accuracy of financial data.

Implantation ERP (30%)

  • Direct involvement in the ERP implementation project at Norbec. In the short / medium term, more specifically participate in the following projects:
    • Implementation of VET (results and budgets);
    • Optimization implementation for bank reconciliation;
    • Implementation – Digitization of accounting analyses;
  • Participate in the implementation of new financial processes.

Financial analysis (10%)

  • Participate in the production of ad hoc financial analyses according to the needs of the company;
  • Collaborate with managers and other employees in the implementation and analysis of investment requests.

Budgets and financial forecasts (10%)

  • Participation in various annual and other budget exercises;
  • Involvement in budget monitoring with the directors.

Compliance and ad-hoc requests (5%)

  • Participation in external audit files and in certain ad hoc requests.

Education and experience required

  • CPA or CPA designation or equivalent experience;
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar position.

Key skills required

  • Proficiency in the Office suite and more particularly advanced Excel;
  • Having previously worked with an ERP;
  • Excellent communication skills in French and English, spoken and written;
  • Knowledge of SQL (asset);
  • Knowledge of Power BI (asset);
  • Knowledge of Epicor ERP (asset).

Starting salary : 61,000$ annually
