In a context where innovation is an integral part of the company’s success, where continuous improvement, initiative and teamwork are strongly encouraged, the Jr. Engineer – Building Envelope must act as a key resource to support the sales and production teams in files requiring different types of calculations and simulations (load, heat transfer, condensation, etc.) or the development of custom designs for the architectural division.

The Jr. Engineer – Building Envelope works in conjunction with the product development team, the estimating/sales team, the marketing team, the design team and the production team.


  • Act as a technical expert for estimating/sales, design, external clients, architects and consultants
  • Ensure compliance of solutions with Canadian and American building codes
  • Ensure compliance of solutions with various standards such as: CSA, UL/ULC, NSF, CFIA, …
  • Develop an internal expertise on the products currently manufactured and the technologies in place
  • He/she must make sure to meet the set deadlines in order to satisfy the customers.
  • Participate in the development of new products and improve existing products according to mandates and established processes
  • Participate in reviews of installation details


  • Write and prepare technical documentation, specifications and presentations for implemented solutions (English and French)
  • Create calculation tools to expedite technical support requests
  • For given construction projects, verify the concepts, drawings and specifications of manufactured products to validate their adequacy with both standards and customer requirements
  • Collaborate in the development and review of product assembly details for various applications
  • Perform various engineering calculations and tests such as load capacity for different assemblies
  • Participate in various product and/or process improvement projects in order to improve quality and reduce manufacturing costs
  • Conduct site visits as needed


Key skills

  • Ability to perform various engineering calculations (structural, thermal, electrical, …)
  • Reading of plans and specifications
  • Functional in the use of Autodesk software (AutoCAD and Inventor)
  • Bilingualism in both spoken and written French and English

Professional profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Engineering
  • Member in good standing of the OIQ
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Building Code (asset)
