Job Responsibilities
As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll report to the Maintenance Supervisor and be responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of production equipment and plant facilities.
- Follow and promote the Health, Safety and Hygiene rules in the workplace
- Support the production line as needed, including process and machine diagnostics, repairs, troubleshooting, modifications, and other related tasks.
- Communicate effectively with operators and supervisors to improve our operational uptime and efficiency
- Perform maintenance activities on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and chemical delivery systems
- Use computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for preventive maintenance and work orders
- Contribute to preparations for general plant shutdowns; participate in execution, support demobilization and plant start-up activities of new product launches
- Participate in line installation, startup, improvements, parts purchasing
- Work with subcontractors, offering direction and problem-solving as needed
Education and Experience Required
- Diploma in Automated Systems Electromechanics, Maintenance Technology, or related field
- 5+ years experience in an automated manufacturing environment
- Skilled trades certifications such as 309A, 442A, 433A, or 426A are assets, but not required
Key skills Required
- Experience with electrical system troubleshooting
- Knowledge of Allen-Bradley RSlogix5000 programming is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative team spirit.
- Knowledge of welding, assembly and machining
- Be autonomous, resourceful, rigorous and detail-oriented
- Ability to work safely under pressure
