Job description:

Under the supervision of the Team Leader, the Draftsman-Designer is primarily responsible for generating, in a continuous and rigorous manner, a high flow of drawings for approval and/or production, based on sales proposals, order confirmations and the various sources of information available. The Draftsman/Designer must also work closely with Project Managers to ensure adequate production, optimal execution and smooth running of ongoing projects, with the aim of enhancing the customer experience. He/she must ensure that the plant is supplied with a continuous flow of products, thus preventing any “breakdowns” that could lead to production stoppages. The incumbent is responsible for raising any anomalies detected and notifying his/her immediate superior through effective communication, acting with judgment and taking the necessary action to rectify anomalies. The incumbent must act with professionalism, faithfully represent the company’s image, share the values as well as the organizational culture.

Main responsibilities :

  • Design via 3D modeling of production drawings;
  • Draw approval plans;
  • Revise approval drawings;
  • Draw assembly drawings;
  • Gather project-specific information from project managers;
  • Participate in departmental objectives and continuous improvement process;
  • Respond to internal support requests;
  • Prioritize work via the planning schedule;
  • Carry out any other related tasks linked to the position;

Key skills :

  • Knowledge of Inventor software;
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD software;
  • Reading of plans and specifications;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite;
  • Bilingualism essential, French and English, written;
  • Attention to detail and professional ethics;
  • Goal and customer orientation;
  • Good analytical skills;
  • Curiosity, versatility, dynamism, thoroughness and attention to detail;
  • Ability to learn and adapt;

Professional profile :

  • D.E.C. in mechanical engineering or D.E.P. in industrial drafting, building drafting or equivalent;
  • Minimum experience of 2 to 5 years in a similar position for a manufacturing company in a related environment;

Assets :

  • Experience in commercial construction;
  • Knowledge of Épicor integrated management software;
  • Knowledge of SharePoint;
