Norbec’s NOROC® Insulated Metal Panel Now FM Approved   

Norbec is thrilled to announce that NOROC®, its fire-rated insulated metal panel (IMP), has officially received the FM Approval. 

This certification is an important milestone for fire-rated IMPs. FM Approvals signify that NOROC® has successfully passed rigorous fire, performance, and quality testing and will undergo continuing monitoring to ensure compliance with the stringent FM requirements. These certifications areis often mandated by insurance companies, guaranteeing that the IMPs will perform as intended to prevent property loss and enhance safety in vital commercial and industrial buildings. 

Approved FM Examination Standards 

NOROC® has secured approval for the following standards: 

• FM 4880: Class 1 Fire Rating of Building Panels or Interior Finish Materials 

• FM 4881: Class 1 Exterior Wall Systems 

• FM 4882: Class 1 Interior Wall and Ceiling Materials or Systems for Smoke Sensitive Occupancies

Note that even if a product is FM certified, it still needs to be certified to multiple standards required by the building codes applicable to the jurisdiction where the product is installed.
