Écoparc Chateauguay 30: Efficient Envelope Delivery for a Large Industrial Facility

Located along Highway 30 in the Montréal metropolitan areaÉcoparc Châteauguay 30 is a nearly 438,000-square-foot industrial building developed by Groupe Montoni in partnership with the Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ and Montez Corporation, with architectural design by NEUF architect(e)s. The project forms part of Montoni’s Écoparc industrial development in Châteauguay, Québec.

The project was developed with strong sustainability objectives and is targeting LEED Gold certification as well as Zero Carbon Building – Conception certification. High-performance building envelope systems play an important role in achieving these targets. Insulated metal panels contribute to improved thermal performance, reduced air leakage, and simplified wall assemblies, helping project teams meet energy efficiency requirements associated with high-performance building standards.

Learn more about how Norbec insulated metal panels can support LEED-certified projects.

The building envelope incorporates Norbec insulated metal panels (IMPs) to provide a durable and thermally efficient wall system suited to large industrial construction. Norbec worked closely with the project team early in the process to ensure panel availability and production capacity before the final order was issued. This proactive coordination helped secure the required materials and maintain the project schedule as construction progressed.

The project features Norex-L insulated metal wall panels with a 4-inch insulated core and 42.5-inch panel width. The exterior façade combines Brilliant White micro-ribbed SMP panels with Rigel Grey PVDF accents, while the interior face uses Bright White Silkline steel, providing a bright and durable interior finish.

Together, these features provide a thermally efficient wall assembly with continuous insulation, while the factory-fabricated panel system allows large wall sections to be installed quickly and with consistent quality. This is an important advantage on large industrial projects where schedule reliability and durability are key considerations.

Installed by Entreprises FMC Inc., the system supplied more than 130,000 square feet of IMPs for the building envelope.
